Nothing to see except nearby shrine on tophills with stunning view of the town. Proximity to few Karen tribe villages.
Besides that the town itself has nothing to offer. No life on streets and most of business closed after 8 pm.

I did the famous Mae Hong Son loop on scooter for 3 nights/4 days and it was perfect. People tend to stay in Pai for a few days to make it a little longer, but since I didn't like Pai, one night stay was perfect for me.

We had three days in MHS the ( Dec31-Jan 3) New years eve down by the lake in the town was great. So much going on and people everywhere. Good food stalls and market every night and i recommend eating at the Good View resteraunt by the lake. For anyone who's trip in MHS is due to riding the Mae Hong Son Loop , this is the town to get your souvenier t-shirts, stickers etc. All in all Mae Hong Son is a great place to visit for a few days .I also recommend taking the side roads off the main Loop road.

Such a laid back, friendly place.
Such a laid back, friendly place. If you are near the small lake you are near what you need. Killer night market. This is maybe my 10th night market in Thailand and maybe my favourite. Good food and cheap. Beautiful setting at night along the lake. The viewpoint on the mountain is fantastic. Walk up the stairs and earn the view. Behind the Wat is a cement road going up and this is where you can look out to Burma. Rent bikes and make your way out of town, cross the Pai River and explore the roads. Great easy cycling. Biggest obstacle is the heat. We are both in our early 60’s and had no issues. Come for 3 days and stay for 9 like us if you can. The best Chicken Khao Soi can be had at Khaw Soi Panoon. Also check out the morning Market 😍
We stayed here for one night during our Mae Hong Son loop road trip. The owner is such a hard working woman! She provided us with maps and listed all nearby attractions and her recommendations to see in the village. We cooked our own dishes for dinner, which was a very cool experience and also yummy. After the dinner, she served ginger tea and sticky rice in bamboo (cooked over the bonfire). We met several travelers staying here during the evening, mostly motorcyclists on a road trip. Overall, wonderful experience!!
Cute little cottage in semi-rural area in the outskirts of town.
Very well equipped. Airco, shower and fridge work well.
We loved sitting on our little porch with a cold drink overlooking the green area and with the neighborhood dogs playing around.
You will need your own transport to go to the center of town. It's about 10 minutes on the motorcycle.
Mae Hong Son has a lovely night market and some very nice places to eat and drink around it.
We enjoyed our stay very much!
Good location in Mae Hong Son, the owner was very friendly and helpful: we booked a tour of the areas with him, and we’re really satisfied with the day! The room was very big, quite basic in terms of comfort. It was really hot when we stayed, and the owner got us a second fan to make sure we could sleep!
This hotel is incredible. You basically live in a luxurious hut in the middle of a "jungle" and rice fields. The pool facing the rice fields is the best thing ever. The sunset there is just from another world. The staff is also very nice and they even have great breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
The best place to stay in Mae Hong Son, feels like home. Really cozy and spacious room. Friendly and welcoming staff, who provide you with any help ! The territory of this resort is wonderful where you can get relaxed. We will definitely visit this resort next year. Thank you so much!
The host was very thoughtful and easy to communicate with. She was responsive and ensured our stay was comfortable. A pleasant 10min walk to the Lake where all the street foods and attractions are. We would stay again when we're visiting Mae Hong Son in the future.
Lovely place. It is really new and it shows on all facilities. Hospitality was great, really attentive personnel, they cooked us breakfast exclusively for us. We highly recommend if you are thinking of stopping by Mae Hong Son City during your trip.
Great hotel in Mae Hong Son. Easy to find, right on the main road, but just far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxed (but still easy to get into down). Beautiful reception, friendly staff, lovely rooms with all the necessary amenities.
My girlfriend said it was the cleanest hotel in Thailand. And we stayed at some nice places.
Food is grown in the property. Everything is home made and made from scratch. Nothing is more authentic than this Family Run Bed and Breakfast.
Camp hidden in the forest in funky cool huts with full amenities - it was such a great experience. Located in serene surroundings while walkable to the center of Mae Hong Son City. A definite gem if you are visiting MHS!
The hostel is situated in the middle of Mae Hong Son with lots of supermarkets in walking distance. The owner is nice and the whole process was very easy. There is a common area on the first floor to relax, eat or work.
The hotel owner showed us a local map and recommended walking to the local temple for sunset- it was wonderful. We also arranged a ride and a tour to some places on the way to Pang Mapha- it was fantastic.
It wasn’t just a good place to sleep. Pon is really nice, helpful and also a good cook. You can also rent a bike here or get to arrange a trip. Very nice place to stay when visiting Mae Hong Son!
Very central and close to the centre of town. Quiet, nice and welcoming. Hot shower, coffee and fridge - very convenient place to stay when passing through Mae Hong Son.
Amazing relaxing stop over whilst completing Mae Hong Son Loop. Beautiful spot and an amazing host. Wished we could've stayed longer. Lovely breakfast and comfy bed.
Such a peaceful and beautiful place. I love that the hotel is amongst so many trees and nature. The staff is so nice and welcoming, thank you so much !
