Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights.
Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights. Erawan waterfall was definitely worth a visit. I was there in early March and other waterfalls in the area I was told might not be worth the trip due to having less water. Erawan has much less water this time of year than the rainy season, but it was still a very beautiful place to visit. I enjoyed the railroad museum and seeing the bridge over the river Kwai. There are good food and coffee options in Kanchanaburi and the train from Bangkok was a fun (but hot) experience.

Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge.
Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge. Thai-Burma Railway Museum (don't waste your time with any of the others). Commonwealth graves immaculately maintained. Hellfire Pass an hour away (watch The Railway Man before you go). Also great golf.

We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!!
We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!! That was the most incredible experinece so far in my life. The elephants are not chained, they walk around on their own, and after the afternoon visits leave the place you can stay alone with them.
We also loved Erawan Falls a lot! And of course you go to see the River Kwai Bridge. But we could have stayed for a week or more in the region - it is beautiful!

Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(...
Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(including many Dutch graves), the Bridge over the River Kwai and the War Museums, it is quite a large town, but without much to attract the average tourist. It is the gateway to the surrounding area with lovely countryside and other War memorials etc. But it really is not a holiday town.

I've been living in Thailand for 20 years, Kanchanburi is my favourite province. If you play golf as we do, there are several beautiful courses within 50kms form the city, some of them best in the country. When it comes to tourist attractions, there is plenty to do, from the very well known (River Kwai train & Museum, Hellfire Pass, Erawan National Park) to gems nested on the burmese border such Sangklaburi (Three pagodas pass) in the north or Pilok up in the mountains in the west for the more adventurous.

I loved the lush vegetation of Kanchanaburi and the serenity of the place. I made a point of visiting the sites available to visitors like, obviously, the Bridge on the River Kwai, JEATH Museum, and War Cemetery, Death Railway Museum and Hell Fire Pass - all of which commemorate the brutality of what those Allied POW's went through, but sadly not much is made of the brutality that the local people suffered who were forced to 'help' with the building of the bridge. Very sad!

This is a posh hostel, and has private hostel rooms as well. We stayed 3 nights.
Bed is very comfortable and sheets very clean.
A/c is cold and shower is hot.
Rooms very nice.
Staff are all friendly, and Mink was especially nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean. Breakfast was good, and they have free water in rooms. Also served coffee and food.
Would recommend this hotel.
Good position and good price.
Also has outside seating area and car park.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. As a solo female traveler, I felt they also took extra care of me and made sure I was always comfortable and had everything I needed. The location on the river is perfect and I greatly enjoyed dining and relaxing by the river each evening. The hotel is also within walking distance of the River Kwai Bridge, night market, and many other restaurants. I look forward to staying here again in the future!
Staff friendly and helpful. Really beautiful setting, luxury feel for half the price. Central location - stone’s throw from bus terminal. Only recently opened (21 days) but we had excellent internet, smart TV, and freshly baked croissants every morning. The owner used to own a bakery and also makes a mean European coffee. Would definitely come back. One of the best hotels we have stayed in during our three weeks travelling throughout Thailand.
Best Staff, Best Breakfast ever (first ever made as we ordered it there & then) 12 years coming to Thailand never before got breakfast as fresh as that, Pool cleaned every morning ( I'm awake at 6 & saw the people cleaning it) Staff just great all round, Hotel spotless, Location great ,cafe's restaurants River Kwai Bridge minutes away.
The hotel is beautiful. So many photogenic spots. Perfect location on the river. Scenic, relaxing and serene.
The staff speak English and help with whatever. The breakfast is delicious. Piles of bacon.
The bed is super soft and super comfy. The TV was tip top. The jacuzzi was fantastic. Water gets hot and shower has power.
The location is ideal for the bridge and tours to other places are easily arranged by the hotel. The swimming pools were lovely. The floating raft for sunset dinner cruise was great. The breakfast was fine, selection of local and western choices. The river view room did have a wonderful view and the rooms are a decent size.
I have previously stayed at U Inchantree and will continue to stay there whenever in Kanchanaburi.
Location is perfect, walking distance to the Bridge and restaurants.
The grounds are very relaxing and being right beside the River is very pleasant of an evening.
The hotel is located at a very peaceful bank of Khwae Yai River, with a wonderful evening and morning view of River Kwai Bridge. The hotel team's service is wonderful. Room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is alright, being the Thai food are more delicious.
Staff are helpful and friendly. Hotel rooms are spacious, clean and have all necessary facilities comparing to its price. Breakfast is ok and quite various; rice, bread, porridge, eggs, sausages, milk, conflakes, drinks etc. Location is in the city.
New build hotel in immaculate condition. 15 minutes walk to war cemetary and museum. 10 minutes from Skywalk on the river/walking street. 3 mins to night market.
Staff amazing. Bed very comfortable. Netflix and youtube on the tv.
The hotel is situated on a road with plenty of bars and eating establishments about 10 mins drive from the centre of Kanchanaburi.. Room I stayed in was a good size with most facilities available. Decent swimming pool.
The hotel offers basic air con, en suite rooms or floating rooms on a river barge. Good views from the patio and there are plenty of food options nearby. 8 minute walk from the train station.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Lovely hotel spread around two pools, with the restaurant overlooking the river. Centrally located in the town, easy for restaurants, shops and transport.
Always nice to stay at this place. Super friendly staff who were both approachable and attentive. Location is perfect and with a carpark, it makes the hotel very convienient.
Best hotel I've ever stayed in Thailand. Very beautiful. Very clean. Worth the price. Staff very good and friendly. If I got the chance, will definitely come.
